Terms of Use

Short version: this is a free education site. Read it, use the tools, take what’s useful. Just don’t treat it as advice for your specific plan, and don’t republish it as your own.

Last updated: August 19, 2026

Using this site means accepting these terms

If you don’t agree with something here, the fix is simple. Don’t use the site. We can update these terms as the site changes, and the date at the top tells you when we last did.

This isn’t advice, and we’re not your advisor

Everything here is educational. It is not tax, legal, insurance, or investment advice, and reading it doesn’t make us your broker, consultant, or advisor. No client relationship gets created by visiting the site, subscribing, using a tool, or emailing us.

Benefits rules change and every plan is different. Before you act on anything here, run it past a licensed professional who knows your situation. More detail on the Disclaimer page.

The tools give estimates, not quotes

The Funding Fit assessment, the Benefits Control System scorecard, the Benefits Blueprint, and the Compliance Calendar all work off the numbers you type in. They do arithmetic on your inputs and general benchmarks.

They are not quotes. They are not underwriting. They are not a legal compliance audit. Nobody has reviewed your actual plan documents. Treat the output as a starting point for a conversation, not as a number to budget against.

The Compliance Calendar in particular flags common deadlines based on what you told us. It can’t know every rule that applies to you, and missing something stays your responsibility.

Ask Blake is a machine

Ask Blake is an AI assistant. It draws on our published articles and a set of verified figures, but it can still get things wrong or state something confidently that isn’t right. Check anything that matters before you act on it.

Don’t put personal health information, employee data, or anything confidential into it. Your questions go to our AI provider to generate the answer, which is covered in the Privacy Policy.

The content is ours

The articles, tools, checklists, PDFs, and the Benefits Blake name and logo belong to us. You’re welcome to read them, share links, and quote a passage with credit and a link back.

You can’t republish whole articles, sell our material, rebrand our checklists as your own, or scrape the site to train a model. If you want to use something in a bigger way, just ask: blake@benefitsblake.com. The answer is usually yes.

Links to other sites

We link out to government agencies, research groups, and industry sources so you can check our numbers. We don’t control those sites and we’re not responsible for what they say or do.

No warranty, and limits on liability

The site is provided as is. We work hard to keep the figures accurate and cite the issuing agency where we can, but we don’t promise everything is complete, current, or error free. We don’t promise the site is always up either.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Benefits Blake isn’t liable for any loss that comes from using the site or relying on what’s on it. That covers lost profits, lost savings, and business decisions that didn’t work out.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
